There once was a ranger who took his job so seriously that he lost his mind trying to protect this area from those who would abuse its environment.  Because history does not document any missing ranger, there are some who would question whether he was really a ranger or just an over-zealous impersonator.  On the other hand, still others think that he was perhaps as high up as Park Manager but the incident has been covered up by the Park Service.  At any rate it is known that he did go missing so long ago that there is no chance that he could still be alive.

He was also known to have had a fiancé named Guenivere who is also assumed among the dead.  However, there have been many reports of seeing what may have been the spirit of the Deranged Ranger as well as that of his beloved Guenivere roaming the woods of Big Lagoon State Park, searching for each other and trying desperately to protect this pristine environment.  In addition to these two spirits, there have been sightings of unusual creatures in the woods in this area, most likely the result of the damage inflicted on the environment, further aggravating the soul of the Deranged Ranger.  It seems that these spirits and creatures generally make themselves known to us around the time of Halloween as witnessed in previous years.  One might say that the Haunt Level at Big Lagoon State Park is very high.

This October you will have the opportunity to observe and even experience some of the unusual happenings in the park – events that few have observed and survived.  Will you be among the lucky few who live to tell the tale of the Creatures of the Big Lagoon.
